I have returned from my desert getaway. I went camping in the Anza Borrego desert this week. We went to a hot springs where we spent days relaxing, swimming, and enjoying our time away from the city. It was the perfect way to spend the new year recharging, walking barefoot and being with friends. I did the most amazing tarot spread for the new year and it was just what I needed. I have a lot of new projects in the works one including publishing a book. This is my new year goal to self publish a book and see where it goes. I will keep it a secret until I have my plan cemented. I am very excited!
I remember Borrego being pretty barren and mostly just shrubs but I was so wrong. There are so many beautiful cactus all over, there is no bare space. It was so amazing it almost looked like wallpaper or a fabric print it was so perfectly arranged. All the different varieties of cactus were mixed together as if they were planted that way. Nature is so miraculous.
I always insist on stopping to collect little bits of dried cactus, quartz crystals or tumbleweeds on our trips to the desert, but this time I found some gorgeous feathers. I dont collect feathers but these were amazing! They had this iridescent quality with blue, green almost purple tones. I also got some pieces of dried cactus to put somewhere near my tumbleweed collection. I dont actually know what to call them but they kind of look like tumbleweeds. This will not be my last adventure into the desert, as I will be going to Joshua Tree for my birthday at the end of the month and to Tuscon for the gem show. I missed it last year so I am so excited. Quartzite is also this week and the next few weeks and I wish I could go to that too but I dont know if I will be able to as school starts soon. January is a busy month but I am excited for the new year and I hope you all had a great new year too!
